I’ve had configuration issues over the last couple of days with my Kali box, which is why I haven’t posted about hacking. I downloaded Pinky’s Palace-easy wanting to up my game a little bit. I will be doing an in-depth write-up/review of it once I complete it but I’m having troubles hacking it because it uses virtual box and my Kali Linux is on VMware. Without giving away too much, you eventually have to reverse shell the box to your Kali Linux box, which the code is easy to find, however I can’t seem to get the connection to work.
I wanted to post this today to point to the bigger picture: I’m new and experiencing bad luck and failure. Many successful people try, fail and try again, and I’m confident I’ll get this one fixed and will post the solution, but often times reading other people’s blogs and websites, it’s all about success. They do such amazing things, but don’t stress enough about the struggle to succeed. It’s not easy, and sometimes it takes longer to figure out something than it should if you just can’t see the solution or have little time to work on it. That doesn’t take away from the fun had in working through the problems, fixing it, and then finding the flag. Go out, fail, figure it out, and try again.
